Genevieve Griffin Faulk, LCSW, MSW, CMC, C-ASWCM, CSA

Genevieve Faulk is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Georgia. She earned a graduate Certification in Gerontology from the Gerontology Center at the University of Georgia and a Certification in Geriatric Care Management through the University of Florida. Genevieve also is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and is a current member of the following organizations: Aging Life Care Association (ALCA) (formerly called the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers), Aging Life Care Association Florida Chapter, Florida Geriatric Care Managers Association (FGCMA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Florida Health Care Social Workers Association (FHCSWA), and Society of Certified Senior Advisors (CSA).

Genevieve is a Certified Family Mediator with the Supreme Court of Florida and received a Certificate in Elder Care Mediation Training from the Conflict Resolution Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Genevieve works with seniors and their families in conflict centered around reaching a resolution with regards to the care needs of the senior.

In addition to her education, Genevieve's experiences in the field of aging have been very diverse. They include the following: nursing homes, hospital based geriatric case management programs, community councils on aging, grant proposals for aging issues, ombudsman programs and abuse investigations, Alzheimer's adult day care programs, home based services, and caregiver support groups. Education, experience, compassion and sincere care for the elderly and aging issues enable Genevieve to establish a trusting and respectful relationship with the older adult and their family members, as well as, other professionals in the aging field.

Genevieve opened her private geriatric care management practice in 2002 after seeing seniors "fall through the cracks" within the health care system. Genevieve's goal at Aging Care Advocates is to improve the quality of life of older adults and their entire family system. Soon after opening her practice, Genevieve discovered that there was a great need for this type of service so much so that Genevieve's business has grown over the years from a sole practice to a large team of expert geriatric care managers all having diverse backgrounds in the aging field.

Genevieve manages and oversees all care management cases with her primary goal being to provide the best quality of care to clients of Aging Care Advocates, Inc.

Katie Colwell Williams, MA, CMC

Director of Advocacy Services & Care Manager Certified

Katie Colwell Williams is a Care Manager Certified (CMC) and is the Directory of Advocacy Services for all the clients served by Aging Care Advocates. Prior to working with Aging Care Advocates, Katie graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a minor, as well as, a Certification in Gerontology. Katie also served as a research assistant at the University of Florida during a pain study, which examined behavioral pain indicators of cognitively impaired older adults.

Katie completed an extensive amount of volunteer work in assisted living facilities in Gainesville while completing her undergraduate degree. It was through her volunteer work that Katie discovered her passion for working with older adults. Thus, Katie went on to receive her Master's in Gerontology from the University of South Florida. Her graduate focus was in the area of Case Management. Following her Master's degree, Katie worked with the West Central Florida Area Agency on Aging as a Medicaid Waiver Specialist. This experience allowed Katie not only to learn about the many of the resources available to older adults in the Tampa Bay Area, but helped her to gain expertise of the Medicaid Waiver Program, as well as, extensive knowledge of the participating facilities throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Katie is a very compassionate, caring and dedicated care manager. She gives her all in everything she does, which allows her to not only gain the trust and faith of our clients, but their family members as well. Katie strives to make certain that all her clients have the best quality of life possible.

Amy Engle, MSW, CMC

Geriatric Care Manager & Care Manager Certified

Amy Engle is a full time Geriatric Care Manager with Aging Care Advocates in Hillsborough county. Amy graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. While working towards her undergraduate degree in social work, Amy completed a professional internship with the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer's Institute. While there, Amy specialized in administering memory screenings and assisting in the outreach/advocacy role for Alzheimer's disease education and research. Amy was able to develop an abundance of knowledge including the numerous resources and services available for older adults living in the Tampa Bay area.

As Amy's passion for working with the elderly population grew, Amy decided to expand her education to work more closely with elderly individuals and their families. Amy later graduated from the University of South Florida with her Master's degree in Social Work. While obtaining her Master's degree, Amy completed a three semester master's level internship with Aging Care Advocates, Inc.

Amy is, in every respect, committed to working with the older adult and disabled populations. Amy is currently a member of the National Social Work Honor Society, Phi Alpha/Delta Sigma chapter. She is also a support group facilitator for a caregiver's support group in Sun City Center. Amy is a Care Manager Certified (CMC).

Teresa W Jackson, MAG, CMC

Teresa Jackson a Care Manager Certified (CMC) since 2006, has been with Aging Care Advocates since 2010, she serves our clients located in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. Teresa graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Gerontology and a Master's degree in Gerontology with a concentration in Counseling.

Teresa has worked with older adults, in a variety of capacities, for many years. While in college she worked in a nursing home as a nursing assistant, activities director, and admissions coordinator. She then worked with the Area Agency on Aging in North Carolina before moving to England and working with the National Charity Age Concern, where she gained tremendous experience in conducting in home assessments and referrals to a variety of different age related services.

Upon returning to the United States and moving to Florida, Teresa started her own private geriatric care management company, which provided assistance to older adults and their families with issues related to aging and elder care. Teresa brings to our team a great wealth of experience and knowledge. She is a member of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA) (formerly called the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers), Aging Life Care Association Florida Chapter, and the Florida Geriatric Care Managers Association (FGCMA). Teresa has a true passion for working with older adults. She strives to see that every older adult is treated with dignity and respect and works to ensure that each of her clients achieve the best quality of life possible. Teresa is an approved trainer for Dementia Specialist, Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care, and provides training through the local area to caregivers, family members, facilities and professionals.

Jamie Magrill, MSW, CMC

Jamie Magrill is a full time Geriatric Care Manager with Aging Care Advocates and serves both Hillsborough and N Pinellas counties. Jamie graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a Minor in Business from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. Jamie then went on to study clinical social work and graduated with a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from The University of South Florida where she was a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society.

While Jamie was working towards her Master's degree at USF, she was a part of a team of social workers that volunteered in a newly designed health care clinic to assist residents of the local Tampa Bay area with their health care needs. This allowed Jamie to be a part of team of doctors and assist the patients in finding resources throughout Tampa Bay that would be beneficial to meet their needs.

Once Jamie received her Master's degree in Social Work, she began to work for a Medicare/Medicaid company where she gained knowledge in the insurance field. From this Jamie went on to work for a Medicaid Diversion Program, where she found her passion working with the older adult population. While working for the diversion program, Jamie was able to network with local assisted living facilities, home health agencies, and resources in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas County to meet her client's needs in order to better assist them in remaining home. From Jamie's experience working with the older adult population, she has discovered that this is her true passion. She is committed to ensure that each client's needs are met, that they are comfortable in their home, and are treated with respect.

Jamie is a Certified Family Mediator with the Supreme Court of Florida and has completed the Elder Mediation & Shared Family Decision-Making Workshop through the Mediation Training Group, Inc. out of Boca Raton, FL. In this capacity, Jamie works with seniors and their families in conflict centered around reaching a resolution with regards to the care needs of the senior. Jamie is also a Care Manager Certified (CMC) and is currently working towards her licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Michelle Wilcox Abdel Aziz, LCSW, MSW, CMC

Michelle Wilcox Abdel Aziz is a full time Geriatric Care Manager with Aging Care Advocates and serves both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Michelle earned her Bachelor's degree in social work from Indiana University. As an undergrad, she worked for various social service agencies and participated in volunteer work. She gained experience with domestic violence crisis prevention, homelessness prevention and the psychosocial needs of those residing in nursing facilities.

After graduation, Michelle worked at the local Area Agency on Aging as a case manager. She helped elders gain access to Medicaid waiver services. The services assisted her clients in securing independence in their own homes. In addition to this position, Michelle was also appointed as a board member on the South Central Community Action Program.

She went on to earn her Master's degree in social work with a specialization in Geriatrics at the University of Louisville. While obtaining her Master's degree, Michelle was accepted in the Foundation Practicums Partnership Program. The partnership program consisted of two rotating practicums. The first was working with a non-profit guardianship agency as a case manager. The second was as a social worker of an interdisciplinary team administering various cognitive testing at the University of Louisville Geriatric Treatment Evaluation Center.

After graduation, Michelle worked full time at the guardianship agency as a case manager where she continually educated families and those under her agency's care on issues such as: dementia care, disease process, safety assessments, and living options.

Most recently, Michelle worked as the Social Service Director at a rehabilitation center in the Tampa Bay area and as a social worker for a local home health care agency. These experiences extended her continuing commitment and understanding of the needs and wants of our aging population, their families, and the services available to them both. Michelle ensures that each individual is treated with dignity and respect while maintaining their optimum quality of life.

Michelle is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She is a Care Manager Certified (CMC) and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Jamie Cooney, MSW, CMC

Geriatric Care Manager & Care Manager Certified

Jamie Cooney is a full time Geriatric Care Manager with Aging Care Advocates in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Her passion for the aging population grew early on while visiting her grandparents each summer at a retirement community. She sought out an education that would give her the tools to improve the quality of life for older adults. Jamie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology from Towson University in Towson, MD. As an undergrad, she interned and volunteered at a Senior Center where she planned and implemented activities for seniors. Jamie then went on to get her Master's degree in Social Work at SUNY Albany in Albany, NY. As an "Internships in Aging Project" Scholarship recipient, she had the opportunity to have both her classes and fieldwork focused in aging. As a graduate student, she interned at a Senior Services Office, and Nursing Home, where she learned about the services, and benefits available to help older adults age in place.

After completing her education Jamie moved to Florida to pursue a career working with the aging population. Prior to working with Aging Care Advocates Jamie was the Director of Social Services at a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Lakeland, FL. As Director of Social Services Jamie coordinated the resident discharge planning process, connected seniors to the appropriate home care services, and provided social support and counseling to both the residents and their families. She also assisted residents and families in applying for Medicaid benefits. Through this position Jamie learned the significance of being a resident advocate, and providing support to residents and families as they transition through different levels of care.

Jamie is dedicated to improving the quality of life of older adults both in the community, and facilities. She is an advocate for seniors aging in place safely with dignity, and providing the support older adults and their families need to navigate through the healthcare system.  She is also a support group facilitator for a caregiver's support group in the Riverview area.  Jamie is a Care Manager Certified (CMC). 

Mikaela Sandrik, MSW, CMC

Geriatric Care Manager & Care Manager Certified

Mikaela Sandrik is a Geriatric Care Manager with Aging Care Advocates and serves both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Mikaela earned her Master’s degree in Social Work and a Minor in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University. During her graduate and undergraduate programs, Mikaela also worked as a Victim Advocate with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. As a Victim Advocate, Mikaela provided crisis intervention and grief/bereavement counseling to victims and their families. She then moved on to intern with the Liver Transplant Department at The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Working within the transplant setting, Mikaela compassionately advocated for and addressed the needs of patients with life-limiting illnesses.

More recently, Mikaela was nominated for Social Worker of the Year at Tampa General Hospital where she worked as a Social Worker on the ACE Unit (Acute Care of the Elderly). As a Medical Social Worker, Mikaela acted as a critical member of the Interdisciplinary Team. She evaluated and addressed the complex needs and concerns of patients and families through psychosocial assessments. She provide services and resources to patients and their families in an effort to optimize the patient’s ability to cope with their medical condition, optimize treatment, and participate in their plan of care. Mikaela holds a wealth of knowledge in regards to discharge planning especially as it pertains to seniors.

Mikaela is known for her strong communication skills along with the innate ability to develop a therapeutic rapport. She has a passion for working with the geriatric population and consistently approaches all tasks positively and compassionately. Mikaela is a Care Manager Certified (CMC).

Lisa Nevola, MSW

Geriatric Care Manager

Lisa Nevola is a Geriatric Care Manager with Aging Care Advocates, serving Hillsborough county. Lisa earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of South Florida and her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University in New York. In her undergraduate experience Lisa worked at a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in New York, where her passion to work with the aging population blossomed. Her role as a Social Work Case Manager provided her with the knowledge and integrative coordination skills to allocate resources and services in the community. As a Social Work Case Manager, Lisa provided social and emotional support to patients and their families, facilitated discharge planning and coordination, assisted with advance care planning, and connected seniors to multiple community resources with their continuously evolving needs.

After completing her undergraduate education, Lisa moved to Florida to pursue her Advance Standing Master’s degree in Social Work at University of South Florida. During Lisa’s graduate program, she was honored with the 2016 American Cancer Society Social Work Oncology Training Grant that provided her with the unique training opportunity to facilitate supportive social work services to patients and families in coping with cancer through Moffitt Cancer Center. At Moffitt she had the opportunity to work on the oncology hematology floor, and in the outpatient gastrointestinal clinic. During this time, Lisa collaborated with the medical team to advocate for patient needs, promoted patient well-being, provided individual counseling & crisis intervention to cancer patients and families, and co-facilitated a support group for those living with metastatic cancer.

Lisa’s passion for the aging population and dedication to her field of practice enables her to advocate for others in a strong, compassionate way. Her experience and training in different medical settings, allows her to be a strong advocate for seniors throughout their many different life transitions.

Venus M Salome-Nelson

Director of Operations, Certification in Gerontology

Venus Nelson is the Director of Operations with Aging Care Advocates, Inc. She helps families who need to explore obtaining care for a loved one learn about Aging Care Advocates. Venus helps reduce the stress of a family who needs help, by supporting them in getting started in the process. Venus also works to match families with the best care manager to meet their unique needs.

Venus' background in an estate planning law firm helps her understand the needs of older adults and their families. Her mission is to create a stress-free experience where families can feel confident and have peace of mind their loved ones are being cared for.

Venus' gift of genuine compassion allows every family she supports to feel comfortable and cared for. Her diligence and advocacy for older adults ensures every family is treated with respect and dignity. Venus recently obtained a Certification in Gerontology from Allegra Learning Solutions via Hillsborough Community College.

Jennifer Chucran, B.S.

Staff Accountant

Jennifer Chucran is the Staff Accountant for Aging Care Advocates. She is involved in all areas of the billing cycle and helps make behind-the-scenes processes run smoothly, to maximize the efficiency of each geriatric care manager. Her mission to serve every family through accurate and timely billing is a priority at Aging Care Advocates.

Jennifer earned Bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Marketing from the University of South Florida in 1997. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California and is currently working on transferring her license to Florida.

As a Navy spouse, she has lived and worked in many states as well as overseas. She is thrilled to be a part of the Aging Care Advocates family.

Stacey Johnson, B.S.

Data Manager

Stacey Johnson is the Data Manager for Aging Care Advocates. Stacey maintains client records, enters data, and performs many other tasks in support of the team.

She graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, earning a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. While married to a Navy officer and raising a family, she has acquired over 10 years of experience working in various positions as a customer service representative and administrative staff in the financial, service, and higher education sectors.

She is excited to be part of a group of professionals whose primary objective is advocating for our aging population.
